Zygi Wilf told Bill Parcells to “name his price” to both oversee the Vikings football operations and coach the team, according to the NY Post. Wilf has strong New Jersey ties and is seeking an upgrade over coach Leslie Frazier, and GM Rick Spielman.
Parcells said he has reservations about taking the job wondering whether the game “passed me by” at age 70.
The Vikings were in similar talks last year with Bill Parcells but were unable to reach a deal. Zygi Wilf had been a Giants fan prior to owning the Vikings. Bill Parcells led the Giants to a Super Bowl victories in 1986 and 1990.
Parcells has been famously quoted as saying “They want you to cook the dinner; at least they ought to let you shop for some of the groceries.” the deal reportedly on the table would allow him to orchestrate the entire operation of the feast.
